Circus Entertainment in Shopping Centres

POG offer a range of entertainment designed specifically to meet the needs of the shopping centre. Each entertainment option is complementary to other options, which allows for a varied entertainment program to attract customers to the centre and encourage them to stay or return.

For example, a parent may take their children to a circus show and juggling workshop, and then stay for some shopping until the "making juggling balls" workshop later in the day. Or receive a balloon animal one day, and return another to learn how to make one themselves in a balloon sculpting workshop. And roving characters greeting and entertaining customers enhance the fun and friendly atmosphere.

circus show 1. Circus show & workshop
Children are drawn into the exciting world of contemporary circus when a 15-minute performance begins the session. Before attention spans get the better of them, the children are up and about, trying it for themselves. The performers they had just seen juggle more things than seems possible and attempt daring unicycle stunts, now share their skills with the audience in a 15 minute workshop.

Duration: 35mins
Target Age: 5-12yrs (with their families)
Maximum number of kids per workshop: 24
Although the workshop has a maximum of 24 participants, it is fine for more than this number to enjoy the show, and watch the workshop if they wish.
Space required: 6 x 8m (approx)

2. Workshop - circus skills
circus skills workshop
Children are divided into 3 groups, and then rotate through three activity stations, where they can play with various circus props and learn basic circus skills such as juggling, plate spinning, and stilt walking. Each skill is taught in easy to understand steps, while still providing challenges. This option allows all children to try all three activities, while in option one they will only try one activity.

Duration: 45mins
Other alternatives to this style of program include running it in a less structured "drop in" style, where children can drop in at any time and leave at any time; or running single skill workshops where everyone learns one skill in greater detail, for example balloon sculpting.
Target age: 4yrs+, depending on skills taught and format of workshop
Maximum number of kids per workshop: 24
Space required: 6 x 8m (approx)

3. Workshop - making juggling balls
Children get to make their own juggling balls to take home.

Duration: 40min+
This can be run either as an activity with a set time to arrive, or over an extended period so that children can arrive at any time and stay as long as it takes them to complete their balls.
Target age: 5yrs+
Maximum number of kids at any one time: 30

balloon artists 4. Balloon sculpting
Colourfully clad characters cleverly creating cute, crazy and captivating creatures from containers of air. Characters may roam around the centre, offering these special gifts to people they meet, or follow a show/workshop program, as a surprise for each participant.

Duration: 45mins
Target Age: all

5. Roving Entertainment roving characters
Stilt walkers, alien jugglers, unicycling cops... Just some of the characters that can add to a fun atmosphere in the centre.

Duration: 45mins
Target Age: all

Note: Although we provide a level of care to the children in options 1 to 3, it is important to note that this is not a babysitting service. Children are looked after to the extent that they are entertained, engaged and kept safe while participating in the activities, but as we do not have the resources to accommodate for every child's individual needs as they arise, they must be accompanied by an adult.

Standard Fees: $4500* per 5 days (up to 2 sets per day - any combination of the above entertainment options)
